Prof. Sondos Albadri

Professor Sondos Albadri is a Professor and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry, and Vice Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Liverpool School of Dentistry. She also serves as Vice Dean for the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Recently Sondes has been appointed chair of the Dental Speciality Fellowship examinations board , this board will oversee the development and implementation of 10 speciality fellowship examinations.
A passionate advocate for improving clinical outcomes, she leads the Oral Health research group in Liverpool , focusing on enhancing patient care, reducing health inequalities, and improving oral health for vulnerable populations. Her research interests include dental trauma and oral health outcomes in children with complex needs. Sondos is the Oral Health theme lead for the C-Gull (Children Growing Up in Liverpool) birth cohort study.
Sondos has served as President of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (2021/2022) and curr. She is the Northwest specialty lead for the NIHR Regional Research Delivery Network. Internationally, she is a member of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry’s education committee and represents the UK as councillor.
As a clinician, she works at Liverpool University Dental Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she established a multidisciplinary clinic for children with complex medical and dental needs and developed a transitional care pathway for young patients with dental trauma. Sondos has authored numerous publications, contributed to textbooks, and lectures internationally, sharing her expertise with global audiences.
Dr. Judi (Sarah) Humphreys

Judi works at both University of Liverpool, within the School of Dentistry, and at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Her research interests include dental anomalies and the oral microbiome.
She is an Emerging Leader for the Royal College of Surgeons England, and Chair Elect for the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry Merseyside Branch.
Dr. Laura Gartshore

Laura is a Senior Lecturer & Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry and Director of the Undergraduate Programme at the University of Liverpool, School of Dentistry. Laura is President of the Education Research Group of the International Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (IADR) and National Specialty Director for Paediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Richard Wellbury

Emeritus Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Glasgow. Past President of EAPD 2003-2006 and BSPD 2001-2002.
Dr. Joanna Monterio

Joana Monteiro joined the University of Sheffield in 2021, where she was appointed Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. Her main interests include the care of children with dental anomalies and she is currently undertaking a PhD investigating hypersensitivity in children with molar incisor hypomineralisation.
Joana leads a joint clinic for children with metabolic bone disease, including rare conditions such as osteogenesis imperfecta and X-linked hypophosphataemia. She co-founded the UK Clinical Excellence Network for amelogenesis imperfecta and dentinogenesis imperfecta to support best practice and multidisciplinary collaboration, and she is currently co-editing a book on amelogenesis imperfecta.
Joana is part of the EAPD clinical affairs committee, she has published on topics related to paediatric dental anomalies and contributes to the development of clinical guidelines for both the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) and the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD).

Prof. Sotiria Gizani

Sotiria Gizani obtained her Dental Degree from the University of Thessaloniki and then completed her 6-year postgraduate studies in Paediatric Dentistry at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium), including the degrees of Master in dental sciences and Doctorate (PhD).
Since 1998, she has been working at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), where she is Professor and Chair of the Department as well as Director of the Postgraduate program, one of the eight EAPD accredited postgraduate programs in Europe. Dr Gizani is currently the Vice Dean of the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been General Secretary of EAPD from 2018-2024 while recently she shas been elected as President Elect.
Moreover, she has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and received international awards while she is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal ‘European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry’, Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry and ‘Oralprophylaxe & Kinderzahnheilkunde’ (Springer). Her research interests focus mainly on clinical trials regarding prevention and management of caries in young children and orthodontic patients, oral health care of patients with special needs and vulnerable children as well as communication and behavior management in the dental setting
Prof. Dominique Declerck

Dominique Declerck is full professor at KU Leuven (Belgium) where she is responsible for the undergraduate teaching in preventive & public health dentistry, pediatric dentistry and special care to dental trainees. She coordinates the postgraduate training program in Pediatric dentistry and Special dental care. Within the University Hospitals Leuven, she provides dental treatment to children, patients with disabilities and medically compromised patients, with main focus on preventive aspects.
She is (co)-author of more than 160 peer-reviewed international papers.
She is a member of EAPD since 1994 and served on several committees. She is past-president of the Belgian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (BAPD), European Association for Public Dental Health (EADPH) and European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD).
