Prof. Ferranti Wong

Professor Ferranti Wong is a leading figure in Paediatric Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London, serving as Professor and Honorary Consultant. He is President of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and a past council member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

His previous roles include Interim Dean and Director of the Dental Institute at Queen Mary and Associate Dental Dean of the London Deanery. Professor Wong directs the DClinDent (Paediatric Dentistry) programme and examines for MPaedDent.

His research interests encompass caries prevention, de- and re-mineralisation with novel biomaterials, and clinical management, with grants from the NIHR. Clinically, he focuses on minor oral surgery, MIH, hypodontia, dental trauma, and developmental anomalies.
Internationally renowned, he is a sought-after keynote speaker at major conferences.

Prof. Dominique Declerck

Dominique Declerck is full professor at KU Leuven (Belgium) where she is responsible for the undergraduate teaching in preventive & public health dentistry, pediatric dentistry and special care to dental trainees. She coordinates the postgraduate training program in Pediatric dentistry and Special dental care. Within the University Hospitals Leuven, she provides dental treatment to children, patients with disabilities and medically compromised patients, with main focus on preventive aspects.

She is (co)-author of more than 160 peer-reviewed international papers.

She is a member of EAPD since 1994 and served on several committees. She is past-president of the Belgian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (BAPD), European Association for Public Dental Health (EADPH) and European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD).

Prof. Sotiria Gizani

Sotiria Gizani obtained her Dental Degree from the University of Thessaloniki and then completed her 6-year postgraduate studies in Paediatric Dentistry at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium), including the degrees of Master in dental sciences and Doctorate (PhD).

Since 1998, she has been working at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), where she is Professor and Chair of the Department as well as Director of the Postgraduate program, one of the eight EAPD accredited postgraduate programs in Europe. Dr Gizani is currently the Vice Dean of the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been General Secretary of EAPD from 2018-2024 while recently she shas been elected as President Elect. 

Moreover, she has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and received international awards while she is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal ‘European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry’, Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry and ‘Oralprophylaxe & Kinderzahnheilkunde’ (Springer). Her research interests focus mainly on clinical trials regarding prevention and management of caries in young children and orthodontic patients, oral health care of patients with special needs and vulnerable children as well as communication and behavior management in the dental setting

Dr. Tina Lambrinaki

She graduated from the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1997. From 1999 – 2003 she completed her postgraduate studies at the same University, where she received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology.

Thereafter, she is a Clinical Instructor at the Dep. of Pediatric Dentistry at the NKUA. She has participated in numerous Congresses both as a lecturer and as an attendee.

She is a member of the EAPD, IAPD and HSPD where she is an elected member of the Board since 2020. For the period 2022-2023 she was the Treasurer of the HSPD and she is the President Elect for 2026-2027.

Since 2003 she maintains her Private Practice in Athens, Greece exclusively for children and special needs patients.

Prof. Manton David John

David has spent nearly 40 years in private practice and academia and is currently a Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at the UMCG, University of Groningen and a visiting professor at ACTA in Amsterdam. He previously convened the specialist training program in paediatric dentistry at the University of Melbourne, and was chair of the postgraduate education and research committee. David is involved in several collaborative and postgraduate research projects in both paediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Graduated BDSc (Melb) in 1984 and worked in general practice until 1991 when he undertook an MDSc in Paediatric Dentistry and then completed his PhD in 2010. He was dental advisor to the Australian Federal Government from 1994 – 1996 and won the KG Sutherland Prize of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2007. David was a member of the advisory board of ORCA for 9 years. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry and an associate editor of Caries Research. David is a past president of the IADR paediatric oral health research group.

Over the past 20 years David has spoken throughout Australia, Asia and Europe and has wide ranging research experience in Minimum Intervention Dentistry, caries remineralisation, especially CPP-ACP, the detection of carious lesions, developmental defects of enamel (especially MIH), resin infiltration of MIH lesions, and the use of calcium silicates in endodontics. He has published more than 180 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and according to Google scholar he has been cited over 10,000 times since 2020. He is currently supervising far too many PhD and masters student research projects.
